This little cracker was found singing on a hillside just outside Abergavenny at the start of June. I'm not big on twitching, but I thought I might as well take a look seeing as it was only 30 minutes from home and I love
Sylvia warblers. Marmora's Warblers are usually found on islands in the Mediterranean and this bird represents only the fifth record of the species in Britain. Its an attractive bird, slate blue/grey all over with piercing red eyes and a neat little song. I took a few photos whilst there, but they can only really be classed as record shots and will be used only as a nice reminder of the experience.
