About

Welcome to LT images - A portfolio of wildlife photography by Lewis Thomson.

I was born in 1983 in rural Buckinghamshire and have had a passion for British wildlife for as far back as I can remember. I moved to the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire in 2007 where I studied for three years, graduating in 2010 with a BSc Hons Wildlife Management degree. I am currently the Assistant Warden for the RSPB's Gloucestershire reserves and hope to have a long productive career in conservation.

In December 2006 I took my interest in wildlife to an exciting new level when I purchased my first digital SLR and a 300mm lens. I have seen some amazing sights since then, some of which I have been fortunate enough to photograph. The Forest of Dean is a stunning location where photo opportunities of scarce species can be plentiful, I am proud to say that 90% of the photographs on this site were taken within 10 miles of my home. I take great care when photographing subjects and keep disturbance to an absolute minimum, this ensures that they are not stressed by my presence and I get to witness a wide range of natural behaviours.

Please have a good look around and visit the site often as I will be adding to the galleries regularly throughout the year. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any comments or questions.

Kind regards,

Lewis Thomson.
